We use the finest equipment: G Loomis rods that give you the sensitivity to feel the bite, the power to set the hook, and are light enough to maximize the sport. Penn reels are perfectly matched to the rods and rugged enough to handle everything from a 50 pound king to a 450-pound halibut. We fish the open ocean or the calm protected waters. Sitka’s statistics, from the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, prove these waters have the highest catch rate for saltwater King Salmon fishing in Southeast Alaska. For the traveling angler, this combination of inside and ocean fishery means access to large schools of migratory Chinook and Coho Salmon. It also means you get to fish calm water, even if the wind should blow. A typical day of fishing starts around 4:00am. The vans depart for the dock at 4:55am. The boats leave the dock about 5:00am to get you to the fishing grounds. Run time to the fishing grounds is anywhere between 20 and 90 minutes. On board the boat you will find snacks, beverages and full deli style lunch. Your sandwiches will be made fresh just the way you like it when you are ready. We fish a full day returning to the dock about 3:30 pm. With both a captain and deckhand on board each boat, both you and your catch will get the attention needed to ensure a great day of fishing. Upon returning to the dock you will be transported back to your lodging while the crew immediately starts processing your fish. What to Expect
